This is a new nursery set that I finished up today. Corals and aquas, yum!
This is also the first time I’ve done a crib skirt in a solid color. I chose coral since it’s my new favorite color.
The quilt was completely improvisational. I started with a solid block and then just slash and sewn the strips in. The strips are actually remnants of a patchwork sham that I cut to get the correct size. Everyone around here (meaning hubbie and daughter) keeps saying that the lines are spaced out incorrectly, but that was kind of the point. Maybe it doesn’t look right and I should have done it more symmetrical. I might try that next time.
I am a big fan of slash and sew quilts now!
I really like the quilting on this one. I did more straight freehand lines.
So…my first improvisational quilt complete. Yay!
The lines are Rock n Romance by Pat Bravo. The top solid is Caribbean Sea from Free spirit. The backing is a fabric from Bonne Christine and the binding is gray from Riley Blake, so very mixy matchie.
The set is available for a limited time in my Etsy shop.
