Scattered Scalenes – crib quilt in shades of blue

So here is my very first improvisational quilt. Zero planning. I just grabbed a bunch of blue scraps and had at it.

I am calling it the ‘scattered scalene’ quilt. I did have it where all the triangles went from light to dark, corner to corner, but my husband hated it. I wasn’t too fond of it either so I mixed all the triangles up randomly and then I loved it. Although, he still didn’t like it.

I think this might be my favorite quilt I ever made. I love all the shades of blues and the natural background.

But what I love the most is the quilting. The quilting lines form an angle that runs down the quilt. Some are going down, some are going over, but none intersect.

I put a dark teal minky on the back. I wanted to use cotton, but couldn’t find anything in blues that would match.

This one is a good pic of the quilting.

I did more quilting than I normally do because of all the negative space this one has.

I should have made it bigger, but then it would be on my bed.

I’ve listed it in my Etsy shop here. This is a crib size quilt that measures 38×51 inches.
