This tutorial is just for the quilt top. It measured 36×50 inch so that would be crib size.
You will need 8 strips measuring 7 inch by 36 inch, sew them together right sides together, press. Use any colors you like. I’ve used different aquas and blues and then I used orange, coral and fushias for the sky.
You need 10 dresden blades in various shades of gold and yellow.
I used Darlene Zimmerman Dresden ruler to cut mine. I cut them the whole 8 inches. Amy Gibson has an excellent tutorial for making these here. Just remember that you are only doing a half circle and only need the 10 blades instead of the normal 20. You will also need to use a half circle for the middle. I made mine using a spool of thread as my template, but anything round and small will do.
Applique the ‘sun’ where you want it on the quilt. Baste, quilt, and then bind as you prefer, and Voila! Sunset at Sea is done.
